Bow Wow announces last album NYLTH and retirement from music

Bow Wow is retiring from the world of rap music.

The 29-year-old 106 & Park host made the announcement on social media on Friday.

The rapper announced that Snoop Dogg, who first discovered him during  a performance in 1993, will executive produce his final album.

On Twitter, Bow Wow shared a photo of his mentor, 44, as he began to address his musical exit. 

‘Its official… Snoop will EP my FINAL album … “NYLTH,”‘ he wrote.

He then shared the same photo on Instagram, but went into deeper detail.

‘My last album will be Executive Produced by my uncle Snoop and myself. Since he brought me in the game, its only right i involve him and end it with him,’ said Bow Wow, real name Shad Moss. 

‘ITS OFFICIAL!!!! THIS S*** BOUT TO BANG ON MOMMAS! And we aiming and im talking RECKLESS on this album. NOBODY SAFE #DPG #ATK,’ he wrote, before again calling out the album title.

As fans began to question the reason for his retirement, the Like Mike star went to Twitter to address the issue.  

‘Over 10 mil sold 6 arena tours 10 top 10’s a few number 4 platinum albums 2 gold albums. IM DONE,’ he began. 

‘I always said years ago i’d retire from music before 30. I just cant see myself at 30 years old rapping.’ 

‘Made over 20 million off rap. Why be greedy? Im good with everything i accomplished. I made it to the white house,’ he noted. 

For those fans who assumed he had quit music years ago, he explained that he ‘decided to get movie and tv money.’

‘When i decided to take years off to do tv and film, they said i fell off. When JT did it, nobody questioned that.”

He is also ‘producing 2 tv shows this year,’ and stars on the CSI spin-off, CSI: Cyber. 

Perhaps the most important part of his life and thus far is when he became a father to daughter Shia, whom he shares with ex Joie Chavis.
