Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have reportedly not had any contact since their split.
The two A-listers have instead opted to have their negotiations – especially the custody battle – handled by their respective teams according to a new report from People.
As the former power couple announced their split four weeks ago, a family source told the weekly: ‘It’s just a sad situation.’
It has previously been reported that Jolie, 41, wants sole physical custody of the their six kids while 52-year-old Pitt is pushing for joint custody.

‘They are still working on issues that they can’t agree on,’ said People’s insider. ‘Things are strained between them.’
Pitt recently had a tearful reunion with his children nearly three weeks after Jolie announced she was divorcing him but apparently there was one missing.
His 15-year-old son Maddox opted not to see his father according to a new report found in the new issue of Us Weekly.
A source close to Jolie told the publication: ‘He [Maddox] chose not to go and stayed with Angie.’
As Jolie had adopted Maddox in 2002, two years before she had met Pitt, the two share quite a bond as a source close to her told Us Weekly: ‘Maddox is very close with Angie.’
Insiders for the publication have denied that Maddox has already made his mind up about custody as California law states that a child older than 14 can decide the parent they would prefer to live with.

However one of Us Weekly’s sources claim that if Jolie is done with Pitt than Maddox is too as they said: ‘He doesn’t really see himself as Brad’s son.’
DailyMail.com has contacted spokesmen for both Pitt and Jolie. Representatives for Pitt have declined to comment.
He was supervised due to an order from the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, which is currently investigating him.
Pitt is also being investigated by the FBI after allegedly drinking and physically attacking Maddox on board a private jet on September 14, which he denies.
Miss Jolie, 41, filed for divorce five days later, ending two years of marriage and 12 years together.
The couple are parents to Maddox, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, ten, and twins Vivienne and Knox, eight.
Pitt’s visit occurred on October 8 at his former family home in Los Feliz, Los Angeles.
While Miss Jolie was in the house, she did not speak to him, reports said.
According to In Touch Weekly, when Vivienne and Zahara came into the room he lost control of his emotions.

A source said: ‘He had tears in his eyes and tried to hold it together because he didn’t want them to get upset because he was crying.
‘The visit was gut-wrenching: Vivienne and Zahara both started crying.’
Pitt is reportedly ‘desperate’ to agree a deal with Miss Jolie, who has custody of the children for now. He volunteered to undergo random drug and alcohol tests to prove he does not have a problem with either. The first test reportedly came back negative.
A friend told Us magazine that Pitt will co-operate ‘in any way he can’ so long as he can see his children.
Before the divorce Pitt and Miss Jolie’s marriage had seemed like one of the most solid in Hollywood. Now she is demanding permanent sole custody of their children, which Pitt is fighting.
Social workers will make another evaluation on October 20 about how to resolve the dispute.
An insider told Us: ‘The hope is that this period of time will lead them to be able to resolve things without the involvement of the courts.’
