Some two-and-a-half years after making waves with his debut single, Dean Lewis finally reveals his first full-length album, A Place We Knew.

The Sydney-raised singer and songwriter has cranked out a succession of hits since “Waves” crashed the charts in 2016 and went on to score multiple ARIA and APRA Award nominations. In 2018, Lewis enjoyed his first No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart when his heartbreaking ballad “Be Alright” completed a seven-week climb to the summit, and finished the year as the No. 4 best-seller Down Under, according to charts compiler ARIA. “Be Alright” just missed a berth in the U.K. top ten, peaking at No. 11, and the single cracked the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“Waves,” “Be Alright” and its followup “7 Minutes” appear on the 12-track A Place We Knew, which dropped at midnight across digital music platforms.

“I’m really proud of it,” Lewis told Billboard ahead of its release. “I can play everything track and yeah, I feel confident that it’s really good. I think I’ve got really good songs in there, I worked really hard on them and I can’t wait for it all to come out.”

Now that it’s arrived, Lewis will support his LP with an intensive internernational run including European shows, due to kick off April 2 at La Cigale in Paris, before returning for a second tour of his homeland in the space of two months. Later, he'll return to Europe and North America for another round of festival slots and headlining dates.

Bring it on, the relaxed Aussie says. “It’s going to be non-stop touring the whole year. It’s going to be great.”
