My Birthday Is NYE, So I’m the Expert in Dressing for New Year’s Parties

During my teenage years, my New Year’s Eve outfit would often consist of the following: a pair of flared Miss Sixty jeans, a halter-neck top from Miss Selfridge and a pair of pointed shoes from Dune (or at least some kind of variation of this). In my 20s, I opted for a low(er)-key look preferring slouchy jumpers and boyfriend jeans with sneakers. Now that I’m in my 30s, I wholeheartedly want to embrace this night. Not just because it’s my birthday, but also because it’s worth trying to make it fun.

Okay, so not every NYE party is going to turn out like the end scene from When Harry Met Sally (we should all be so lucky to have Billy Crystal running for us like that), but it’s worth dressing up for, even if you’re sitting at home eating Christmas cheese with leftover chutney.
