Welcome to Scotland! Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) are back in the motherland during the Saturday, May 28, episode of Outlander, but get some seriously worrisome news about the Jacobite Rebellion shortly after their arrival. Spoiler alert: they’re going to try to change history again. Because that worked so well last time.

To make matters worse, Claire runs into Laoghaire (Nell Hudson), a sweet gal who you might remember as “that hater who tried to have Claire burned alive” last season. The good news is Laoghaire makes it through the episode without trying to murder anyone, but she’s most definitely still in love with Jamie — at least that’s what we assume given the fact that she’s taken to sniffing his clothes.

Jacobite Rebellion, Here We Come

Claire and Jamie are back in tartan! TV’s cutest couple seem so much happier in ye olde Scotland, and pretty much spend their time living that potato life (no, really, they’re weirdly obsessed with potatoes) and chilling in Jamie’s ancestral home while he bonds with his sister’s baby. But because nothing ever goes right on this show, Jamie finds out out that Prince Charles (Andrew Gower) forged his signature and pledged his loyalty to the rebellion. Looks like Jamie and Claire have no choice but to team up with the Jacobites and reverse the course of history!

Introducing Grandpa Lovat

Jamie and Claire race off to join Prince Charles’ army, but make a pit stop to visit Jamie’s grandfather, Lord Lovat (Clive Russell), in the hopes of recruiting some men. The problem? Colum Mackenzie (Gary Lewis) is also visiting Lovat with the intention of discouraging him from joining the Jacobites. Lovat seems game to fork over some able bodies, but there’s a catch: Jamie has to pledge fealty, give up his family home, and — oh yeah — Lovat also wants to have sex with Claire. It’s like, what is with the men on this show?! Jamie thinks on his feet and informs his gramps that Claire’s a white witch, but still. Look at your life, look at your choices, Lord Lovat.

P.S. If you’re looking for another reason to hate Lovat aside from his rapist tendencies, back in the day he tried to have Jamie’s mom kidnapped to prevent his own bastard son (read: Jamie’s dad) from marrying her. What a guy!

Laoghaire Is Back and Still Creepy-Crushing on Jamie

While Jamie is off doing 18th-century man stuff, Claire occupies herself by wandering aimlessly and doing basically nothing. And who does she run into? That would be Laoghaire, who immediately apologizes for that one awkward time she tried to have Claire killed. Naturally, Claire is like “bitch, please, I hates you” (in so many words), which causes Laoghaire to be even more bummed. But not all is lost, Laoghaire fans (anyone out there?)! Our favorite feminist time traveler has a change of heart when she realizes that Lovat’s wimpy son, Simon (James Parris), is crushing on Laoghaire, and asks her to encourage Simon to get his dad on Team Jacobite.

Simon and Laoghaire end up having the most awkward and useless interaction ever, which gives Claire a chance to chat with Lovat’s witchy seer. This ol’ broad tells Claire that she had a secret vision that Lovat would meet death at the hands of an executioner, which gives Claire — you guessed it — an idea. Lord help us, because her ideas literally never work.

Claire Gets Witchy With It

So, who does Lovat side with? Basically, he holds a big meeting of the man-minds, and right when Jamie’s about to give up his ancestral home in exchange for men, Claire fakes a “vision” and tells Lovat what the seer told her — only she adds that the executioners are Jacobites in the hopes that he’ll be encouraged to join the uprising. As expected, this plan totally fails, Lovat tries to attack Claire, sides with Colum, and everyone’s miserable — but at least Simon stands up to his dad and decides to join forces with the Jacobites! Too bad Laoghaire’s just not that into him.

Jamie Takes Home a Major Win

Despite Claire’s plan not really working, she asks Jamie to thank his stalker. And while Laoghaire acts pretty normal during the interaction, we hear her mutter that she hopes to earn his love in the future, which is all kinds of weird. Single white female alert!

But before you start praying to your Jamie shrine, here’s a bit of good news: Lovat decides to hedge his bets and give Simon some men for the Jacobite cause. After all, if the Jacobites win, he can take the glory, and if they lose, he can pretend he had nothing to do with it. Brilliant!

Tell Us: Is this the last we’ve seen of Laoghaire, or will she make another play for Jamie’s heart?

Outlander airs on Starz Saturdays at 9 p.m. ET.
