Project Runway star Chris March dies at age 56 of a heart attack… two years after suffering a fall so bad he had to be placed in a coma

Chris March has passed away at the age of 56. 

The costume designer turned reality TV star who was on season four of Project Runway died from from a heart attack on Thursday, according to TMZ.

The New York City resident had worked with some of the best stars around, including Madonna, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Coolidge, Meryl Streep and Beyonce.

March had been battling with poor health for years. 

‘Chris had been in and out of the hospital for the last year,’ said a source.

He had suffered a bad fall two years ago in his apartment where he hit his head and didn’t wake up for four days.

After he woke up, he called 911 and was taken to the hospital where he was placed in a medically induced coma.

He had suffered organ failure and had a collapsed lung, according to the site.

March had a hard time recovering.

‘But the heart attack came as a surprise to doctors and relatives,’ a source told the site.    

And up until his death he was working on new designs.

His resume was long and varied.  He was finalist on Project Runway and was on Project Runway All Stars.

Chris also had his own show on Bravo called Mad Fashion.

And showed up on The Real Housewives of New York City as he worked to make costumes for Sonja Morgan. 

His resume also included costumes for Cirque du Soleil.

Upon hearing the news, TV host Andy Cohen shared a picture of himself with March to Instagram to commemorate the late talent.

‘This is how I’m going to remember Chris March, dressed as Lisa Vanderpump as I wear a Giggy costume,’ the personality wrote.

Cohen then listed a long resume of celebrities Chris styled throughout his career, including Beyonce.

Other A-Listers he had worked with include Madonna and Lady Gaga as well.
