Stephen Colbert Pokes Fun at Omarosa's Trump Warning on 'Celebrity Big Brother'
Stephen Colbert is not impressed by former White House adviser Omarosa Manigault-Newman’s dramatic comments on reality television about the difficult period she spent on Pennsylvania Avenue.
In a Late Show segment on Thursday, the host took jabs at footage of the former Apprentice winner’s comments about Trump and the White House on the first episode of the inaugural American season of Celebrity Big Brother, which premiered Thursday. “I was haunted by tweets every single day, like what is he going to tweet next?” she whispered to roommate and TV personality Ross Matthews of Trump in the scene.
“Oh, really, you were haunted? Out here it’s been the Trumpityville Horror,” Colbert joked. “Also, Omarosa, pro tip: When you’re on a reality show, whispering doesn’t really work. Trump can still hear you.”
In another scene in the clip, Matthews asks Manigault-Newman, “Should we be worried?” and she nods. “Don’t say that,” he responds, “because we are worried but I need you to say, ‘No, it’s going to be okay.'”
“Okay. No, it’s not going to be okay. It’s not,” Manigault-Newman replies.
“I believe you. I had no inkling it wasn’t going to be okay when Trump hired Omarosa to work in the White House,” Colbert joked. “That is some depressing stuff for advertisers to follow. ‘No we’re not going to be okay’ brought to you by new Fruitburst Xanax, it’s like novocaine for your brain!”
